Love is in the breezy Manchester air this February, as Valentine's Day is just around the corner.

For those of you who have forgotten to book somewhere for date night, we've got a dozen ideas of where you can go so you don't land yourself in the doghouse on Monday.

And even if you're strapped for cash, there's something to suit everyone's budget, whether it's a free trip to one of the city's most historic buildings, or splashing out on a fun and exhilarating teambuilding activity.

A candlelit dinner is nice and all, but for those looking to inject a bit of excitement into February 14, here are 12 alternative date ideas that isn't cocktails in a swanky bar.

Located inside the Great Northern Warehouse on Deansgate, Lane 7 is great for an activity packed date followed by mouth watering burgers.

The venue has 11 bowling lanes, as well as multiple arcade games, foosball, beer pong and darts to have a go at.

If that wasn’t enough, guests can belt out a karaoke ballad in one of two sound-proof booths, try their hand at ping-pong, shuffleboard and even shooting pods.

The venue - which opened last may - is also home to Fat Hippo’s first Manchester site, serving up huge dirty burgers with delicious Fat Hippo sauce.

You can even make a real evening of it with drinks at their bar, as they’re open Monday to Thursday 3pm until late, and Friday to Sunday 11am until late.
