£110k-p/w 'monster' sets sights on move to England as Conte personally makes Spurs contact

According to Chilean source La Tercera, there has been an update on Tottenham Hotspur’s transfer plans involving Inter Milan midfielder Arturo Vidal.

Recent claims in the press indicate Spurs transfer chief Fabio Paratici has his eyes set on potential 2022 free agent moves to bolster manager Antonio Conte’s options.

Indeed, the Italian has apparently been weighing ‘quality players at zero cost‘ for his compatriot at N17 – leading to rumours they could move for the likes of Jesse Lingard and Franck Kessie among others.

Vidal, who’s deal at the San Siro runs out later this year also, has now emerged on to Paratici’s radar but it is Conte who has apparently made the first move.

As the Chilean has his ‘bags ready to leave’ Inter, it is believed by La Tercera that Conte has personally made contact with Vidal’s camp over his availability.

The former Bayern Munich star is currently considering all options, but this report claims a move to the Premier League and Spurs ‘most takes shape’.

Despite interest from Galatasary and Marseille abroad, it is believed the ‘intention’ of Vidal is a move to England.

The £110,000-per-week veteran would come with a wealth of top level experience but should only be considered a short term back up on a potential one or two-year contract.

Vidal was a sparingly used player during Conte’s final season at Inter, starting 14 Serie A matches, and we imagine the Lilywhites head coach would use him in a similar way at Spurs.

Still, the 34-year-old with over 130 caps for his country and 12 league titles in total could come as a real figurehead for the dressing room (Transfermarkt).
