Pakistan Cyclists To Compete In Asian Meet After Getting Visas

Seven members of the Pakistan Cycling team will be participating at the Asian Elite and Junior Cycling Championships after getting their visas issued by the Indian embassy in Islamabad. "Our squad including five cyclists and two officials left via Wagah border yesterday for the championships," Secretary-General of the Pakistan Cycling Federation Moazzam Khan Khair told PTI.

Ex-Weightlifting Chiefs Banned For Life Over Doping Cover-Up

Former International Weightlifting Federation chiefs Tamas Ajan and Nicu Vlad were banned for life on Thursday for their role in a doping cover-up. Ajan, an 83-year-old Hungarian, was president of the body for 20 years before being forced to resign in April 2020. Romanian Vlad, 58, a former Olympic weightlifting champion, was a vice-president. The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) said it received requests for arbitration of anti-doping rule violations (ADRVs) against Ajan and Vlad in December 2021 "in relation to their alleged involvement in tampering with the doping control process and complicity in anti-doping rule violations involving multiple weightlifting athletes over a period of many years since 2012".

Capri Global, KLO Sports To Own Rajasthan And Chennai Franchises In Ultimate Kho Kho

The Ultimate Kho Kho (UKK) on Friday welcomed Capri Global and KLO Sports as the owners of Rajasthan and Chennai teams respectively for the inaugural edition of the League, set to kick off in 2022. The KLO Sports-owned team will be known as Chennai Quick Guns while Capri Global's Rajasthan-based franchise is yet to be named.

"I wish these scholarships were there in my time," says the first sportsperson from Motorsports to win the prestigious Arjuna Award three years back in 2019. He spoke to NDTV at a function where JK Tyre was celebrating its completion of four decades of motorsport journey in India. The company announced a new scholarship program of Rs 2.5 crore. This initiative will select up to 5 young athletes, including a girl, and provide them with a chance to groom their career in motorsport on international platforms.
