Mikel Azcona emerged from a sun-baked Hungaroring as the WTCR − FIA Touring Car World Cup’s new Goodyear #FollowTheLeader after he claimed his second win of the season in fine style for BRC Hyundai N Squadra Corse. Driving a Hyundai Elantra N TCR, the 25-year-old from Spain produced a faultless drive from pole position to win Race 1 and move ahead of ALL-INKL.COM Münnich Motorsport’s Néstor Girolami at the top of the provisional WTCR standings.
Having spent five years together at Red Bull, four of which Vettel won the World Championship, the relationship between Horner and the now Aston Martin driver has never soured.
A suffering Lewis Hamilton was desperate for the race to end as his Mercedes W13 bounced away at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix.
Santiago Urrutia fought off Rob Huff to win the partially reversed-grid Race 2 at WTCR Race of Hungary as the WTCR – FIA World Touring Car Cup completed an action-packed weekend at the Hungaroring. Cyan Performance Lynk & Co’s Urrutia started from pole position, held off Huff’s Zengő Motorsport Cupra Leon Competición at the start, then survived a safety car restart to win.
