The Indian batters faced a tricky time dealing with Shoaib Bashir's spin bowling on the second day of the fourth Test against England in Ranchi. After the Ben Stokes-led England team put up a challenging 353-run total, Indian batters were found wanting in negating the challenge. A leaked video from an IPL 2024 shoot featuring newly-appointed Mumbai Indians skipper Hardik Pandya has gone viral on social media. In the video, Hardik could be seen complaining about the food that he was served during the shoot and he asked for his chef and nutritionist. He was served dhokla and jalebi for lunch but the India all-rounder was very clear that they were not good for his fitness and although a person tried to convince him, he was adamant that he will take be eating the food that he was served. New Zealand and Australia suffered injury blows ahead of the third T20I with Devon Conway and David Warner being ruled out of the final clash. Conway sustained a blow on his left thumb while wicketkeeping from an Adam Milne delivery in the second over of the match which clicked over 140 kmph. He was forced to leave the field and Finn Allen took over the role behind the stumps. For the rest of the match, Conway didn't come out to field or bat. The initial X-ray scans ruled out a fracture.

Amid the ongoing 4th Test against India, former England captain Michael Vaughan took an indirect dig at the visitor's Bazball approach. England were rocked by debutant India pacer Akash Deep, who struck thrice in the first session to leave the Ben Stokes-led side reeling at 112/5 at Lunch on Day 1. However, Joe Root and Ben Foakes put on a crucial stand of 113 runs to help England cross the 300-run mark on Day 1. Root, who ended up with a century, came out to bat with a different strategy, alongside Foakes, after Lunch, taking his time out in the middle to lead England's recovery.
