"Who's This Genius?" Wasim Akram's Blunt Reply On Ramiz Raja's T20 Stars For Tests Advice

A video of Wasim Akram's reaction to former Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chief Ramiz Raja's old suggestion is going viral on social. In the surfaced clip, former Pakistan batter Azhar Ali, during a discussion, recalls how a former PCB chairman put forward his opinion of drafting T20 players in the Test team citing the advancement in cricket. Listening to this, Akram could not hold back and said, "Yeh kon the genius (Who this genius was)?" "Ramiz Raja," said Azhar in reply, and the discussion panel was left in splits.

The comment of Raja that was the topic of the talk was made by him during England's visit to Pakistan in which the touring side thrashed the hosts with a 3-0 clean sweep in the Test series.

"Like England for example, I suggested to Babar that England are playing the T20 format in a five-day version, so you better pick T20 players here. It's a forced mindset on Pakistan, which I absolutely like. I want the future generation to think of it as a T20 format, like England are playing," Ramiz said to Sky Cricket during the Multan Test, the second game of the series.

The Pakistan government removed Raja as the PCB chief in the aftermath of the team's 3-0 whitewash by England in the Test series in December 2022.

Raja served as PCB chairman for 15 months after he was appointed by former premier Imran Khan to head the board in September 2021.
