Saturday night's NBA slate features 10 games to choose from. However, perhaps the most interesting game on the slate is the Denver Nuggets vs. the Oklahoma City Thunder as the Nuggets look to extend their win streak to four games. In the first meeting between these teams, Nuggets dominated the Thunder 128-95 on the road. Oklahoma City should be looking for redemption on Saturday.
If I'm placing bets on an NFL weekend, I'm not looking at full game spreads or totals. Those are efficient markets that have been bet into all week. Instead, I'm looking for the obscure. It's my specialty, anyway. It's what I build statistical models around to try to find an edge. If there's an advantage to be found now, it's in small markets.
Leon Edwards will defend his welterweight championship against Colby Covington in the main event of two-title-fight UFC 296 on Saturday in Las Vegas (ESPN+ PPV main card at 10 p.m. ET, prelims on ESPN2/ESPN+ at 8 p.m. and early prelims on ESPN+ at 6 p.m.).
The NBA season continues with a seven-game slate for bettors to choose from Thursday. I'm most looking forward to the matchups between the Eastern Conference rivals Boston Celtics and Cleveland Cavaliers. The Celtics beat the Cavaliers on Tuesday, so this is the second game of a back-to-back. The Cavs are on a two-game losing streak, while the Celtics have won five of their past six. Boston enters as an 8.5-point favorite, but I'm very interested in two other bets from this game. It'll be interesting to see what happens Tuesday night.
After over a month of competitive games and colorful courts, the NBA's inaugural in-season tournament finally makes its way to Las Vegas for the semifinals. Both games are exciting matchups, but I am particularly looking forward to one.
It's going to be a fun week.
If I'm placing bets on a Sunday, I'm not looking at full game spreads or totals. Those are efficient markets that have been bet into all week. Instead, I'm looking for the obscure. It's my specialty anyway. It's what I build statistical models around to try to find an edge. If there's an advantage to be found now, it's in small markets.
