Premier League will see a tweak in format as 10 teams will be divided into groups of five but the number of matches per side will remain 14. As per groupings released by BCCI on Friday, group A comprises Mumbai Indians, KKR, Rajasthan Royals, Delhi Capitals and Lucknow Supergiants. The group B will have Chennai Super Kings, Sunrisers Hyderabad, Royal Challengers Bengaluru, Punjab Kings and Gujarat Titans.
Former Australia batter Simon Katich has quit the Indian Premier League (IPL) SunRisers Hyderabad less than two months before the tournament starts. As per a report in 'The Australian', Katich decided to walk out after a disagreement on how the team was being managed and he also felt that the franchise disregarded the pre-auction plans. Earlier, SunRisers Hyderabad was involved in a major controversy after they sacked David Warner as captain last season and then the batter was even ousted from the playing XI.

England pacer Tymal Mills was sold to Mumbai Indians for Rs 1.5 crore while West Indies pacer Obed McCoy was bought by Rajasthan Royals for 75 lakh. All-rounder Tim David was also bought by Mumbai Indians for a whopping amount of Rs 8.25 crore. Chennai Super Kings acquired New Zealand all-rounder Adam Milne for Rs 1.9 crore and on the other hand Royal Challengers Bangalore bought Australia Jason Behrendroff for Rs 75 lakh.
