IPL changes format: 10 teams divided in two groups of five; each team to play 14 games

Premier League will see a tweak in format as 10 teams will be divided into groups of five but the number of matches per side will remain 14. As per groupings released by BCCI on Friday, group A comprises Mumbai Indians, KKR, Rajasthan Royals, Delhi Capitals and Lucknow Supergiants. The group B will have Chennai Super Kings, Sunrisers Hyderabad, Royal Challengers Bengaluru, Punjab Kings and Gujarat Titans.

West Indies death bowler Romario Shepherd was picked by Sunrisers Hyderabad for Rs 7.75 crore during the accelerated part of the Indian Premier League (IPL) mega auction on Sunday. England pacer Tymal Mills was sold to Mumbai Indians for Rs 1.5 crore while West Indies pacer Obed McCoy was bought by Rajasthan Royals for 75 lakh. All-rounder Tim David was also bought by Mumbai Indians for a whopping amount of Rs 8.25 crore. Chennai Super Kings acquired New Zealand all-rounder Adam Milne for Rs 1.9 crore and on the other hand Royal Challengers Bangalore bought Australia Jason Behrendroff for Rs 75 lakh.
