Quedaban cinco minutos, pero de nuevo volvió a salir el Colby más cerebral. Durmió la pelea, dominó y se llevó la victoria por decisión unánime (49-46, 50-44 y 50-45). El número 1 del ranking del welter había sido mejor y solo esa mano le hizo temer por su victoria. Fue mejor y justo vencedor. Poco tardó en poner dirección a su próximo objetivo: "He limpiado la basura de Miami, voy por la de Louisiana. Voy a por ti, Dustin Poirier", espetó.
