"Proteas batsman, Aiden Markram, has been ruled out of the remainder of the Proteas' tour of India. He spent seven days in quarantine after testing positive for Covid-19 last week and will not be able to complete his return to play programme in time to take part in the remainder of the T20 series," a Cricket South Africa statement said.
The Proteas were dealt a blow with the news that Aiden Markram would not make a return to the team in the current T20 series against India, although Quinton de Kock could return from injury soon.
South Africa have played exceptionally well in the ongoing T20I series against India and this is the main reason, behind them standing on the cusp of registering a series victory.
