Honest Yosuke Ideguchi admits he doesn't know if he has done enough on loan at Avispa Fukuoka to earn a shot at Celtic. But the 27-year-old has pleaded for Brendan Rodgers to give him a second chance when he reports for duty at Lennoxtown in January after a year-long loan in his homeland.

The midfielder was shipped out to Fukuoka by then-boss Ange Postecoglou midway through last season, having failed to make a single appearance for the Hoops during the campaign.

A series of injury woes derailed his time in the Scottish Premiership. Those woes persisted early in his return to the J-League, but he has since kick-started his career after becoming the key man for the side - as he helped them lift the the J-League 1 Cup this term.

After an impressive campaign, speculation in Japan has ramped up that he could remain with his current side beyond the January window on a permanent basis.
