Manchester United loanee Will Fish has praised club captain Harry Maguire and centre-half colleague Raphael Varane for their input prior to his loan move to Hibernian.

The 19-year-old is enjoying the second loan of his career following an unsuccessful stay at Stockport County last season. The teenager was called into United’s pre-season tour squad after the exit of Axel Tuanzebe, although had an outing to forget against Crystal Palace after being shown a red card 19 minutes after coming on from the bench.

He’s been sent elsewhere for his development this season to gain more first-team minutes as he spies a breakthrough at Old Trafford.

When making the move, Fish explained how former Reds midfielder and now coach Darren Fletcher gave him an encouraging review of Hibernian.
