Oscar Bobb has revealed he thanked Kevin De Bruyne after the Norwegian starlet scored his first Premier League goal in their dramatic 3-2 win over Newcastle United.
The 20-year-old also described how Pep Guardiola told him to "go on and score" ahead of his introduction, as City chased the game late on.
The Premier League champions had to show their mettle against Eddie Howe's side - after taking the lead through Bernardo Silva, they soon found themselves behind after quickfire goals from Alexander Isak and Anthony Gordon.
De Bruyne made his much-anticipated return to first-team action following five months out after undergoing hamstring surgery.
