Preston's Robbie Brady has claimed his friends at Manchester United have been singing the praises of Alvaro Fernandez. Fernandez, 19, signed for Preston on a season-long loan last month.
Fernandez had attracted plenty of interest this summer and it's understood Preston managed to sign the youngster ahead of other clubs in the Championship and Premier League.
Preston's development plan for Fernandez played a key role in the deal. The left-back made 32 appearances for United's U23s last season and he's been brought to Preston to challenge Brady at left wing-back, which is a position he is comfortable playing.
