It was another dismal defeat for Rangers in midweek to Cypriot minnows Aris Limassol - and interim boss Steven Davis will only be hoping that their poor patch of form doesn't continue down the road at St Mirren.

Michael Beale was sacked last weekend following a shocking 3-1 defeat to Aberdeen at Ibrox which left the Light Blues seven points adrift of Celtic in the league after just seven games - but the Gers are indeed third in the table behind the unbeaten Buddies.

There will no doubt be a host of potential new Ibrox bosses watching this one and they will be hoping to see better from the current dressing room than the Europa League upset.

But Stephen Robinson has shown that the Saints are no pushovers. He led his side to an outstanding 15 points in the league from a possible 21, and should they beat Rangers on Saturday, they'll go six points ahead of the Light Blues after just eight games.
