Wayne Rooney tells Marcus Rashford how to reach next 'level' after Manchester United contract signed
Wayne Rooney has told Marcus Rashford he must bring major trophies to Old Trafford if he wants to take his Manchester United career to the next level.
Rashford put pen to paper on a new five-year contract on Tuesday, committing himself to United until 2028. The forward secured a £325,000-per-week deal after scoring a career-best 30 goals across all competitions last season, earning him the Sir Matt Busby Player of the Year award.
The 25-year-old reportedly turned down a number of lucrative offers from teams in the Premier League and across Europe, cementing his place among the greats of recent years.
But Rooney insists consistent silverware will be key to him being named in the same bracket as the world's best.
