Strange things often happen in cricket, just as in life. One such thing happened in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 game between Delhi Capitals and Gujarat Titans at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on Tuesday.

Batting first, hosts Delhi Capitals notched a fighting 162/8 in 20 overs with their skipper David Warner (37) top-scoring. However, Warner got lucky once on the first legal ball of the match itself after GT had opted to bowl.

A delivery from Shami brushed Warner's off-stump, but the bails did not light up or move as the Australian got a reprieve. GT wicketkeeper Wriddhiman was left stunned. Had Axar Patel (36 off 22 balls) not used his long handle to good effect, even 150 would have looked a distant reality for DC.

After getting their first win of IPL 2023 against Kolkata Knight Riders, Delhi Capitals are all set to face Sunrisers Hyderabad in their next clash on Monday at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad. The David Warner are currently at the bottom of the points table with only one win out of six games. Inconsistent batting performance made the team struggle during the low run-chase of 128 against KKR. As opener Prithvi Shaw has failed to deliver a strong performance in the season, there are chances that the team might call back Sarfaraz Khan into the Playing XI.
Delhi Capitals skipper David Warner has urged the young Indian batters in his side to devise their own methods to counter express pace as it is a skill that can't be taught. Warner, DC's leading run-scorer with 285 from six games, did the star turn with his fourth half-century that was largely responsible for his team's first victory this IPL on Thursday night. However, Indian batters have cut a sorry figure as Prithvi Shaw (47 from 6 games), Sarfaraz Khan (34 from 2 games), Yash Dhull (3 from 2 games), Aman Khan (30 from 4), Abhishek Porel (33 from 4 games) have all had issues against pace and spin. “To be honest, we don't have too many discussions as you have to back your skills and I can't tell people how to bat. You have to actually work it out,” Warner was very straight in his reply when asked if he has had conversations with Shaw and company.
Delhi Capitals registered their first win of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 as they defeated Kolkata Knight Riders by 4 wickets in Delhi on Thursday. These were the first two points for the David Warner-led side after a series of six consecutive losses in the competition. Warner led by example as he slammed another half-century while Ishant Sharma, Andrich Nortje and Kuldeep Yadav took two wickets to bundle out KKR for a score under 130. As a result of the loss, KKR are currently eighth in the table with four points while DC continue to occupy in the last spot with just two points.
Rain delayed the start of Delhi Capitals' IPL 2023 match against Kolkata Knight Riders on Thursday in Delhi, however, there was enough action to follow once the game started. DC bowlers struck at regular intervals to skittle out KKR for a low total. The match had a special guest in Apple CEO Tim Cook. He is on a visit to India for the opening of Apple's special stores in Mumbai and Delhi. He has been visiting several places and also met with Indian badminton stars including Saina Nehwal and Kidambi Srikanth.
In Mumbai Indians' Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 game SunRisers Hyderabad in Hyderabad on Tuesday, Rohit Sharma joined an elite club as he became only the fourth batter to score over 6000 runs in the league. Only Virat Kohli, David Warner and Shikhar Dhawan are the other batters to have scored over 6000 runs in the IPL. The match was also witness to a strange incident. In the fourth over by   Marco Jansen,  Ishan Kishan smashed the fourth ball straight at the non-striker's end where Rohit was standing. It hit Rohit's pad and the MI skipper looked to be trouble. Even his wife Ritika Sajdeh looked concerned, however, Rohit was back on his feet in no time.
