Melbourne Renegades opener Nic Maddinson was 'ghosted' at the crease in bizarre fashion during their Big Bash League encounter against the Brisbane Heat.Maddinson had to be called back to the middle after he thought he was dismissed in one of the most curious circumstances seen. The Renegades went off to a flying start thanks to Maddinson, who smashed 87 runs off 49 deliveries to set the Heat a target of 167.In the ninth over, while the Renegades skipper was trudging nicely on 42 off 26 balls, Maddinson attempted to pull Mark Steketee to the boundary and started for a single. However, Maddinson was left flabbergasted when he turned around to see the wickets lit up and one bail on the ground.Maddinson immediately walked off thinking he was hit wicket, but replays shown that the wind or something supernatural dislodged the bail in Cairns."I went to play a pull shot to a slower ball and I was quite deep in the crease.
The next minute the bail's come off and they've celebrated," said Maddinson after the match."It was a bit confusing but I'm lucky I got to stay out there."The Renegades went on to win by 22 runs as Heat were restricted to 144-6.Watch the incident below:What on earth???Looks like the wind's knocked the bail off!
