After the match against Mumbai Indians, Dhoni won fans' hearts with his gesture towards the under-fire Suryakumar Yadav. The CSK skipper took out time for the MI batter and had a lengthy chat with him, quite possibly over his struggles with the bat.

Surya hasn't been in the best of form, aggregating scores of 15 and 1 in the first two matches for Mumbai. Right before the start of the IPL, the batter had incurred three consecutive Golden Ducks in the 3-match ODI series against Australia.

Former India cricketer Aakash Chopra has questioned the Indian cricket team selectors for giving Suryakumar Yadav only one Test match and then dropping him from the squad. India on Tuesday announced the squad for World Test Championship final against Australia. While Ajinkya Rahane's comeback to the squad was the highlight, the exclusion of Suryakumar raised some eyebrows. Following his T20 exploits, Suryakumar was roped in into the Indian team for the four-match Test series against Australia that took place in February-March this year. However, the right-handed batter was given only one game in which he scored 8 runs off 20 balls in his only innings.

Swashbuckling Indian batter Suryakumar Yadav continued his stay at the the top of the latest ICC Men's T20I Batters Rankings released on Wednesday. Suryakumar, who has endured a lean run of late, remained static on the ICC list with 906 rating points, and is over a 100 points ahead of the second placed Mohammad Rizwan (798) of Pakistan. Surykaumar, who is the lone Indian batter in the top 10, enjoyed a stellar year in the format in 2022. He continued his good run in the series against New Zealand and Sri Lanka earlier this year.

Arjun Tendulkar's IPL debut was widely followed as he played his first match in the Indian Premier League (IPL) for Mumbai Indians against Kolkata Knight Riders. While Arjun, son of Sachin Tendulkar, could not scalp any wicket in his first match, the wait ended in his second match, that too in a tense last over against SunRisers Hyderabad. With SRH needing 20 runs in the last over, Arjun scalped his maiden wicket on the fifth ball as he dismissed Bhuvneshwar Kumar, who was caught by Rohit Sharma at covers. Before that, Arjun looked like following a plan and delivered a couple of good yorkers to keep the SRH batters at bay.

On Tuesday, Suryakumar was dismissed by Marco Jansen as he was caught by Aiden Markram after a valiant effort. The attempt was appreciated by SRH franchise owner.
