KL Rahul effected a lucky stumping during India's first ODI match against Australia at Punjab Cricket Association IS Bindra Stadium in Mohali to get the better of Marnus Labuschagne.

The right-handed batter attempted a reverse sweep during the game on Friday but failed to execute it properly. The ball hit wicketkeeper Rahul's pad and then ricocheted onto the stumps, catching Labuschagne short of his crease.

It was also the first wicket in ODI cricket for Ravichandran Ashwin since January 19, 2022. Shami, who doesn't seem to feature in India's first XI plans for the World Cup, literally made a statement with his second five-wicket haul in ODIs.

Marnus Labuschagne has been drafted into Australia's Cricket World Cup squad with spinner Ashton Agar left out on Thursday after picking up a calf injury. Labuschagne comes into the squad in the one change to the provisional 15-man group announced by Australia earlier this month as Travis Head keeps his place despite being ruled out for the start of the tournament after breaking his hand. Five-time champions Australia will head to India with just one specialist spinner in Adam Zampa. Fellow leg-spinner Tanveer Sangha will stay with the squad until at least the end of the warm-up matches along with all-rounder Matt Short.
Australia saved their best for the last as Indian middle-order wilted under pressure exerted by part-time off-spin of Glenn Maxwell, losing the third ODI by 66 runs on Wednesday. India however won the series 2-1. India were cruising along at 171 for 2 chasing a stiff target of 353 on a placid track but the middle-order crumbled in chase with Maxwell (4/40) getting crucial breakthroughs to restrict the hosts to 286 in 49.4 overs. Skipper Rohit Sharma (81) and Kohli struck fifties to provide the middle-order with a perfect platform in the big chase, but the rest floundered to hand Australia the advantage.
India will be facing Australia in the third ODI match against Australia on Wednesday in Rajkot. The hosts have already taken an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series and will now play for a clean sweep. In the third ODI, Rohit Sharma will return as the skipper while the likes of Virat Kohli and Kuldeep Yadav will also be back. On the other hand, Rohit also informed on Tuesday that certain players will be missing out from the third match as some of them have caught viral fever while few of them are travelling back home.
Following his side's 99-run loss to India in the second ODI, Australia skipper Steve Smith that having lost five matches in a row ahead of the ICC Cricket World Cup in October, his side needs to work on a few things. India outplayed Australia with both bat and ball to clinch the three-match ODI series 2-0 after winning the second match by 99 runs through The Duckworth-Lew–Lewis–Stern (DLS) method at the Holkar Cricket Stadium on Sunday.
KL Rahul continued his brilliant run of form as he scored another half-century during the second ODI match between India and Australia at the Holkar Stadium in Indore on Sunday. The explosive batter ended up scoring 52 off just 38 balls with 3 fours and 3 sixes. While all of his shots were more or less extremely attractive, a six off the bowling of Cameron Green went deep into the stands and landed on the stadium's roof. During the 35th over of the match, Rahul capitalised on a length delivery from Green and heaved it over deep mid-wicket for a six so massive that it left both fans and commentators stunned.
