The Indian cricket team couldn't pass the final hurdle in the Cricket World Cup 2023, losing the title battle against Australia by 6 wickets on Sunday at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

PM Modi was himself present at the stadium to watch the Indian team take on Australia in a bid to end the 12-year wait for the ODI World Cup.

But, Pat Cummins's men got the better of Rohit Sharma's army, much to the disappointment of the host country. Seeing the likes of Rohit, Virat Kohli and others dejected, PM Modi joined them in Team India's dressing room and tried to lift their spirits.

PM Modi had a chat with a number of players, including Kohli, Rohit, Jasprit Bumrah, Ravindra Jadeja and Mohammed Shami "Aap log poora 10-10 game jeet ke aaye ho, yeh toh hota rehta hai.

India was sad on Sunday. The nation could not be faulted as its dream had come crashing down. The country had pinned their hopes on the Indian cricket team to bring home the World Cup with a win over Australia in  the final in Ahmedabad, but it was the visitors who were the better team on the day and deservedly took the title. But the most dejected lot of them all were the Indian cricket team players, who played a fearless brand of cricket over the last month-and-half. But one bad day in office ruined their dreams.
