Mika Biereth has been recalled by Arsenal from his loan at Motherwell in a seismic blow to the Steelmen. The Danish youth international has been the shining light in an otherwise tortured season for Stuart Kettlewell's side, who only recently escaped a run of no wins in 15.
Despite missing three months of the season, he has more goals than any other 'Well star with six strikes and joint-most assists with five in 13 games.
Rumours emerged on Tuesday that Sheffield Wednesday wanted to loan him in to boost their English Championship survival bid. Now, Kettlewell confirms Arsenal have made the decision to bring Biereth back to North London with rumours pointing to an instant move to Hillsborough.
It's a major blow for Motherwell who will now call upon Theo Bair, Oli Shaw and Jon Obika in forward areas, while Curtis Main has gone to Dundee after attracting interest from the Steelmen.
