Chelsea have completed the signing of teenage midfielder Lesley Ugochukwu from Rennes.A France Under-19 international, the Blues have swooped with a deal worth a reported £23.5 million (€27.3m) to take Ugochukwu to Stamford Bridge.The Premier League club announced the signing on Tuesday evening with Ugochukwu, 19, signing a seven-year deal.He made his senior Rennes debut in 2021 and went on to make 60 appearances for his boyhood club, scoring one Ligue 1 goal in the process.Ugochukwu follows Nicolas Jackson, Christopher Nkunku and Angelo Gabriel to west London, with defender Axel Disasi's move from Monaco expected to be completed in the coming days. Nkunku, 25, joined the Blues in June from RB Leipzig for a reported £63 million ($80 million). The BBC and The Telegraph reported that Nkunku could be out for up to four months. He was expected to spearhead a new-look Chelsea this season under the management of Mauricio Pochettino. The news comes as a hammer blow just days before they begin their Premier League campaign at home to Liverpool on Sunday. In a statement, Chelsea said: "Nkunku has sustained a knee injury which will rule the forward out for an extended period.
