Tottenham Hotspur reportedly want an up-front payment of £100million if they are to sell star striker Harry Kane in the upcoming summer transfer window.
As reported by The Times, Spurs are hopeful that rejecting an offer consisting of instalments will deter Manchester United from pursuing a move for the England captain.
MEN Sport understands that Erik ten Hag is intent on signing Kane as he approaches the final year of his contract. It adds that the London club believe the Reds do not want to be involved in lengthy negotiations as it could delay their plans to improve their forward line.
While Bayern Munich and Real Madrid have also been linked with the 29-year-old, Tottenham feel the frontman would prefer to remain in England as he aims to break Alan Shearer's record of 260 Premier League goals.
