Tottenham: Conte suffers 'big blow' over £100k-a-week star at Hotspur Way

Tottenham losing Hugo Lloris for the north London derby would be a “big blow” for Antonio Conte, according to The Sun journalist Tom Barclay. The Spurs captain suffered a muscle problem recently and is now in a race against time to be fit for the crunch clash at the Emirates next weekend.

Lloris hasn’t missed a minute of Premier League action since before Covid-19 struck two-and-a-half years ago. But the £100,000 per-week star is in danger of seeing his impressive run of consecutive starts come to an end following a thigh problem suffered while away with France.

Lloris played 90 minutes against Leicester last Saturday, but the French FA confirmed on Monday that the 35-year-old wouldn’t play any part in their two Nations League matches.

The statement read: “Arriving on Monday morning at the National Football Centre in Clairefontaine, Hugo Lloris consulted Dr Franck Le Gall.
