Tojemarine, Seasiders, others win as championship enters match Day three

Niger United, Confluence Stars, Tojemarine Academy, Safety Babes, Seasiders Babes and Defenders Babes secured maximum three points, yesterday, at the Prudent Energy Premier Handball League holding at the Indoor Sports Hall of the University of Lagos.

In the men’s class, Owena Kings succumbed to the firepower of Confluence Stars 19 to 23, while Niger United beat Benue Buffaloes by 36 to 27 in the second match.

Tojemarine Academy in the other game had a walk over against Kada Stars.Safety Babes again won another three maximum points after beating Plateau Peacock 23 to 21, while Seasiders Babes defeated Rima Queens 20 to 17, just as Adorable Angels suffered another walk over by Defenders Babes in the women category.

In match Day three fixtures, Tojemarine Academy have a tough duel against Safety Babes, Owena Kings will meet Rima Strikers, Kano Pillars have a date with Benue Buffaloes, Confluence Stars are against Niger United, D: Defenders will meet Lagos Seasiders and Police Machine will square up against Kada Stars.The women fixtures will see Imo Grasshoppers take on Kada Queens, Safety Babes will challenge Seasiders Babes, Benue Queens will clash with Rima Queens, Plateau Peacock to take on Adorable Angels, while Bendel Dynamos will square up against Defenders Babes.

Kano Pillars and Safety Babes have won the men and women categories of the 2022 Prudent Energy Premier Handball League, which ended at the Indoor Sports Hall of the University of Lagos (UNILAG), Akoka, yesterday.   The teams, which led at the end of the first phase of the competition in Abuja, eventually finished the work by also topping the tables at the end of the final phase in Lagos.   Playing in the last game of the competition, Pillars ended the competition with a hard fought 21 to 21 draw with Safety Babes, which kept them unbeaten in the competition.
