This Morning viewers wasted no time in reacting to Ben Shephard's appearance on the programme as he joined Holly Willoughby as her latest co-host.

The Good Morning Britain star has swapped ITV studios for the first time in six years having last hosted the daytime show with Holly in 2017.

It comes as Holly, 42, hasn't had a permanent co-host since Phillip Schofield's sudden exit in May. Phillip, 61, initially 'stepped back' from his role on the ITV daytime show after more than 20 years as he said rumours about his fractured relationship behind the scenes with Holly had 'become the story'.

However, he then issued his resignation a week later after he admitted to an “unwise but not illegal” relationship with a younger male colleague on the show.
