An 18-year-old boy who starred in Freddie Flintoff's BBC show has died in a horror car crash, his former school has confirmed.
Penwortham Priory Academy has confirmed that Umar Mahmood, an ex-student, tragically died in a car accident in Preston. Umar was in the devastating crash on Chain Caul Way on Tuesday, September 10, after the Audi A3 Sport he was in veered off the road and struck trees.
He suffered severe injuries and was critically ill in hospital before he died. The academy, where Umar completed his studies two years beforehand, also mourned the loss of another student, 16 year old Adam Bodi, in the same incident.
Paying tribute, the school remembered Umar as a "bright" and "studious" individual. They highlighted his appearance in the BBC One documentary 'Freddie Flintoff's Field of Dreams' and his love for cricket and geography, reports Lancs Live.
