Steven Naismith believes Hearts are taking the right steps to challenge the Old Firm for honours in the future. The Tynecastle club are on course to finish a clear third in the Premiership – despite yesterday’s defeat to Rangers.
Before that, Naismith’s side had won eight games on the spin in a 12-match unbeaten run – and still have a Scottish Cup quarter-final against Morton to relish.
After a difficult start to life as Gorgie gaffer, the 37-year-old has excelled in the dugout. And Naismith is convinced Hearts can compete with Rangers and Celtic at the top.
