Nottingham Forest are set to be impacted by six alterations to the laws of the game this coming season. The International Football Association Board (IFAB) determines football's laws, and they have confirmed the changes which will be made in the Premier League from the start of this season.
The most high-profile alteration is the implementation of five substitutes, which will be made permanent. It was something that Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp and Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola had called on for years, and the rule had initially been a temporary measure throughout the pandemic.
However, teams can only make the changes at three separate points in the match, other than half-time and for an injury stoppage, to combat the game being broken up persistently.
Another rule that has been amended is Law 14. Goalkeepers will now be allowed to have one foot behind the goal line during a penalty kick.
