Shamrock Rovers win LOI title after win over St Patrick's Athletic

Shamrock Rovers have won their fourth League of Ireland title in a row after a 2-0 win over St Patrick's Athletic at Richmond Park.

In a first half where both teams had chances to take the lead, the defences were on top as neither side could find a way through.

The second half had much fewer opportunities, but a late goal from Aaron Greene gave the champions the lead in the 84th minute While St Pat's had late chances, Stephen Bradley's side used all their experience to see out victory, as Graham Burke secured the title with a goal in 91st minute, as the celebrations were able to begin.

While St Pat's will be disappointed not to stop Shamrock Rovers, they will have their chance of silverware in the FAI Cup final in two weeks.
