Scott Fraser is still hoping Charlton Athletic will give him the green light to join Hearts in this transfer window. Record Sport online broke the story that the Jambos had agreed a loan deal for the midfielder.

Since then, the 28-year-old has been left in limbo after English League One outfit axed their manager Michael Appleton. It's also understood that no movement is likely until the Addicks appoint a replacement.

Alex Neill and Nathan Jones have emerged as contenders for the vacancy at the Valley. Fraser is still in Scotland and is hoping his proposed switch to Tynecastle will happen before the close of the window.

A source close to the situation said: “Scott got permission to travel north to speak to Hearts but since then the situation has changed.
