However, now that he has stepped into football management - having left Fleetwood Town earlier this year - and punditry duties he appeared to have left the goading of Rangers behind.
But there was a return to his previous antics as he joined Tim Sherwood on The Tippy Tappy Football podcast to discuss his career - and offer predictions for the future on what is next for Brendan Rodgers' Hoops.
Sherwood zeroed in on what it was like to play inside the inside the Celtic Park cauldron on big occasions such as major European nights.
