Scott Brown in loaded Rangers dig as Celtic legend jokes he hung up boots to 'give them a chance'

Scott Brown joked that he hung up his boots to give Rangers “a chance” after helping put a huge dent in their title hopes last season.

The new Fleetwood Town boss helped Aberdeen earn two draws against the Light Blues and those four dropped points were crucial as the Ibrox side surrendered their title to Celtic.

Brown lost the Scottish Premiership to Steven Gerrard’s Rangers the previous season as he failed to lead the Hoops into the history books by winning a tenth consecutive league title.

But after ending his trophy-laden Parkhead career the combative midfielder continued his career in the north east under former Hibs team-mate Stephen Glass, who took over at Pittodrie.
