Sam Lammers has been hit with a Rangers barb with one pundit unconvinced he will hit the Utrecht heights required. The attacker signed for the Light Blues under Michael Beale in the summer transfer window but he has been unable to impress Ibrox fans.
Despite regular minutes, Lammers' performances were the subject of criticism and he fell out of favour during Philippe Clement's tenure, who has sanctioned his loan return to Holland with Utrecht.
He will now play in the Eredivisie until the end of the season. Utrecht fans were impressed by his debut in a 0-0 draw Vitesse but former Ajax and PSV boss Aad de Mos is far from convinced.
Having watched Cyriel Dessers and Danilo across stints with both Ajax and Feyenoord, the pundit insists his inability to shine alongside them is telling in a backhanded pat on the back for two stars still in Glasgow.
