Sam Lammers is turning heads back in Holland as the Rangers loanee is named in one former Dutch international's team of the week.

Michael Beale brought the attack-minded star to Ibrox in the summer from Atalanta but he struggled in his first six months in blue.

He netted just twice with two assists in 31 games, and he has been shipped out on loan by new gaffer Philippe Clement. At new club Utrecht, Lammers has starteed brightly and his assist in a 1-1 draw with PSV has landed him a mention from former Utrecht star Ferdi Vierklau.

Twice-capped by the Netherlands and having played over 100 games for Utrecht in the 90s, he believes time abroad is aiding Lammers upon a return to the division he has experience in from time at Heerenveen and PSV.
