PSV Eindhoven fans were so enraged at their Champions League loss to Rangers, they lobbed a pint of beer at manager Ruud van Nistelrooy's head, according to former Ibrox keeper Ronald Waterreus.
Rangers had to run the gauntlet of hate at the Philips Stadion with their team bus attacked before the game and their hotel targeted during the night before the second leg.
And former Rangers shot-stopper Waterreus, who was at the game doing TV analysis, revealed Dutch legend van Nistelrooy didn't escape their wrath.
He said: "When Rangers scored, Ruud van Nistelrooy was directly struck on his head by a pint of beer in a plastic cup thrown at him. "People who do this are just idiots.
