Besiktas have confirmed Rangers are close to sealing a £4million plus deal for Ridvan Yilmaz. The Turkish club released an official statement to confirm that talks were on-going with the Europa League finalists over their left-back.

A deal is close and the 21-year-old is expected to do a medical and to seal a 5 year contract with the Ibrox giants over the coming days.

The Turkish media had reported that the deal was around €6.5 (euros) and included a 20 percent sell-on but Ibrox sources are adamant that the upfront fee is less than the figure quoted.

The statement sent from Beşiktaş Football Investments Industry and Trade Inc. to the Public Disclosure Platform, read: “Negotiations have started regarding the definitive transfer of our professional football player Rıdvan Yılmaz to Rangers FC Club.” Rangers’ position has been strengthened with the news Yilmaz made it clear he wanted to move to Scotland.
