Everton rejected an offer from Newcastle United for winger Anthony Gordon, according to The i‘s Northern Football Correspondent Mark Douglas.  The Toffees have already lost Richarlison, their top scorer from last season, to Spurs during this summer’s transfer window.

At £60m, it was the second biggest sale in the club’s history, ranking only behind Romelu Lukaku’s £75m move to Manchester United in 2017.

Gordon came through the youth ranks at Goodison Park and established himself last term, starting 25 of the Blues’ 38 Premier League matches.

Under contract until the summer of 2025, he would apparently cost in the region of £35m (via CaughtOffside). Douglas writes for The i that Newcastle have submitted offers for Everton’s Gordon, as well as Leeds United’s Jack Harrison, but have seen both ‘turned down’ by the respective clubs.
