The first three games of IPL 2023 were full of action and drama as we witnessed exhilarating performances from the players. Punjab Kings came out victorious against Kolkata Knight Riders in the first doubleheader of IPL, courtesy stellar show from Arshdeep Singh and Bhanuka Rajapaksa.

Lucknow Super Giants registered a clinical win over Delhi Capitals in their first-ever home game. England speedster Mark Wood hogged the limelight in the second doubleheader of the season by grabbing a five-for after IPL debutant Kyle Mayers displayed the Caribbean Calypso with his blitzkrieg at Ekana Sports Complex.

Former India cricketer Harbhajan Singh - who shared the dressing room with the English cricketer during IPL 2018 - was mighty impressed with Wood's effort with the ball in his first game for LSG.

Speaking on Star Sports Harbhajan said, "When he played in the TATA IPL for the first time in 2018, he did not have the accuracy, that he showed.

Punjab Kings' dependency on skipper Shikhar Dhawan is a major concern and rest of the players will have to take responsibility if they have to emerge as title contenders in the ongoing IPL, said former India spinner Harbhajan Singh. Dhawan has scored bulk of the runs, amassing 233 in four innings with 99 not out being the highest as PBKS managed two wins and two losses under his captaincy so far.
Last year's finalists, Rajasthan Royals pulled off a memorable run chase against defending champions Gujarat Titans, handing them their second straight loss at home. It was their skipper Sanju Samson who led from the front, scoring a 32-ball 60 to lay the foundation of a tricky run-chase that was finished by Shimron Hetmyer. Lavishing praise upon Samson, former India spinner Harbhajan Singh compared him to none other than the great MS Dhoni while advocating his case for regular game-time in the Indian national cricket team.
After failing to register big scores in his first three outings, Harry Brook finaly lit up the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 with a blistering century for SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) against the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). Brook spoiled the party of KKR as he hit 12 fours and three sixes in 55-ball 100 that took SRH to 228/4. Brook described it as "a special night" and said that "this knock is definitely up the there" with my other top performances. After SRH's 23-run win over KKR at the Eden Gardens, Brook was seen feasting on some local delicacies.
The second week of IPL is living up to its reputation of being an incredible league. Between Monday and Thursday, there have been four back-to-back last-ball thrillers. Rajasthan Royals produced a stunning performance and breached fortress Chepauk by defeating Chennai for the first time since 2008. Sandeep Sharma kept his cool in the final over and defended 20 runs to give his team a famous win, preventing MS Dhoni - the finisher - from finishing it off in style. Apart from Sandeep's display under pressure in the final over, RR's spin trio of Ashwin-Chahal-Zampa bowled beautifully and Jos Buttler's gritty half-century took them to a competitive total.
Rajasthan Royals spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has been fined 25 Percent of his match-fee for breaching the IPL Code of Conduct during Match 17 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 between Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai on Wednesday, according to a BCCI statement. While the statement did not specify as to what was Ashwin's offence, a BCCI source told NDTV that it was due to the 'comments on umpiring' that the spinner made during the post match press conference for which he was fined.
