Rangers injury state of play on Roofe, Lawrence, Souttar and Helander as mixed news emerges

Rangers boss Gio van Bronckhorst has provided an update on whether or not some of his injured squad will return to action after the international break.

The Ibrox gaffer shared positive news on Tom Lawrence who is expected to be back in action, but it was less bright when it came to John Souttar and Filip Helander, with his update on Kemar Roofe offering no guarantees.

Lawrence suffered a knock during Rangers' win over Ross County last month and has been forced to sit on the sidelines since.

But Van Bronckhorst reckons the forward will be back in time for the Hearts game on Saturday, October 1. Both Souttar has been out for some time after playing an active role in pre-season for the Gers.
