It's decision-time for the Rangers board as they round off their interview process. It’s looking increasingly like a straight shootout between Kevin Muscat and Philippe Clement in the race to replace Michael Beale.
But Gordon Blackwell, Glasgow, reckons the Ibrox top brass should hold their horses for now, saying: “Rangers should wait until January to appoint a new manager and allow Steven Davis to stay in place until then and see how he does.
Bringing a new man in, at this time, would mean he would be stuck with the disastrous signings made by Beale. The next appointment is crucial after two of the worst managers in Rangers’ history.” But Alan Flett had another suggestion: “Rangers need to go and ask Steve Clarke to be the new manager and forget that he comes from a Celtic background.
We have got to get this appointment spot on and I can’t think of anyone better. “I’m not having Kevin Muscat, or any of the other names that have been linked with the job.
