Rangers address Napoli 'uncertainty' as club in talks with UEFA over Champions League clash

Rangers are in talks with UEFA amid "ongoing uncertainty" over Tuesday's Champions League clash with Napoli. Domestic football in Scotland has been postponed this weekend as a mark of respect following the Queen's passing.

The Ibrox side were due to travel away to play Aberdeen on Saturday but a joint SPFL and SFA statement confirmed earlier on Friday that the game, plus all other professional fixtures across the country, would not take place.

Up next for Giovanni van Bronckhorst 's side is a group stage showdown with the Serie A side at Ibrox but with no date yet confirmed for Queen Elizabeth II's funeral and the UK in a period of official mourning, questions have been raised over whether the fixture would go ahead.

And now Rangers have issued a statement saying that, as things stand, plans to play the match have not changed but they are holding discussions with UEFA amid "policing and resource pressures".
