Besides Tendulkar, World Cup winning captain Kapil Dev, 'little master' Sunil Gavaskar as well as Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Virat Kohli, Sourav Ganguly, Anil Kumble, Virendra Sehwag and Indian cricket coach Rahul Dravid are on the list too.
Star India bowler Ravichandran Ashwin on Friday received an invitation to attend the Ram Temple 'Pran Pratishtha' ceremony on January 22 in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh. The 37-year-old spinner became the latest cricketer to be invited to the ceremony. "Excited to stand alongside BJP State Secretary Shri. @suryahsg in presenting a heartfelt invitation and Akshathai to the esteemed cricketer Shri. @ashwinravi99 for the Ayodhya Ramar Temple #PranaPratishta," BJP Tamil Nadu State Vice President Venkatraman C wrote on X while announcing the news.
Virat Kohli is the latest Indian cricket team player to get an invitation to attend the Ram Temple consecration ceremony in Ayodhya on January 22. Before this, MS Dhoni, Sachin Tendulkar, Venkatesh Prasad were among the players who were sent invitations for the auspicious occasion. Kohli and his wife Anuskha Sharma, who is a well-known Bollywood actress, were presented with the invitation to attend the grand inauguration of the temple in Uttar Pradesh. According to media reports, Kohli was travelling with the Indian cricket team for the ongoing T20I series against Afghanistan but the star batter came back to his home in Mumbai to receive the invitation personally before going to Bengaluru for the third match.

Dhoni, archer Deepika Kumari, and folk singer Mukund Nayak are among the 16 distinguished individuals from Jharkhand who have been invited, according to news agency PTI. Recently, cricket great Sachin Tendulkar received an invitation to attend the 'Pran Pratishtha' ceremony of Ram Temple. The 'Pran Pratistha' ceremony is scheduled to take place on January 22.
