Several important cricket events await the Indian team this year, and the think tank of the side has narrowed on '17-18 players' going forward, according to Rahul Dravid.

This leg of home ODIs were very important as the players will now get into IPL and after that there is the big WTC final, followed by a tour of West Indies and a possible Asia Cup in Dubai. "Probably not going to get too many more games in our conditions.

We had the opportunity to play in these conditions which is great. Yeah, coming out of the IPL to a large extent we are pretty clear about the kind of squad and the players we want.

We have narrowed it down to 17-18 players," Rahul Dravid said. Injuries to Jasprit Bumrah, Shreyas Iyer, Prasidh Krishna, Deepak Chahar does remain a concern but Dravid insisted that the team is in a good head space. "We have some guys who are recovering from injuries and will come into the frame based on their recovery.

For Mumbai Indians, the 2022 Indian Premier League (IPL) was a forgettable one as it finished at the bottom of the points table. It lost 10 out of 14 games. Indeed, it was the worst performance by Mumbai Indians who finished last — for the first time ever across all 15 editions. Mumbai Indians will be hoping that Jofra Archer hits top form in the absence of an injured Jasprit Bumrah as the record five-time champions aim to turn things around after a horrendous last season. One player who will be closely watch is Gujarat Titans captain Hardik Pandya. Since the last IPL, Pandya has been doing great with the bat as well as ball and led his team to a title triumph in its first season.
