Queen of the South 3 Airdrie 2: Diamonds weren't at the races, says Callum Fordyce as side slump to third defeat in four games

dailyrecord.co.uk

Airdrie player-assistant boss Callum Fordyce admits his side didn't deserve anything from their trip to Dumfries as Queen of the South denied them the chance to move back into the promotion play-off spots in League One.

The defender felt his side were way off it at Palmerston as goals from Euan East, Lewis Gibson and Kieran McKechnie did the damage in a 3-2 victory.

And Fordyce confessed even though the Diamonds brought it back to 2-1 and then 3-2 after second half strikes from Gabby McGill and Calum Gallagher, they never looked like taking something from the game.

Fordyce, whose side remain two points off the top four after a third defeat in four games, said: "We weren't really at the races.
