Tasked with the responsibility of preventing Mumbai Indians from reaching the target of 214 runs, Punjab Kings pacer Arshdeep Singh struggled to repeat his death-bowling heroics in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 match on Wednesday.

Arshdeep was taken apart by MI batters, including Suryakumar Yadav, Ishan Kishan, Tilak Varma, conceding a whopping 66 runs in just 3.5 overs.

As the match ended in the favour of Rohit Sharma's MI, Arshdeep found himself trending on Twitter, with fans unleashing memes and jokes on the micro-blogging platform.

Courtesy of his disastrous performance against the 5-time champions Mumbai Indians, Arshdeep registered an unwanted record for conceding the most runs without bowling full quota of 4 overs in T20 match.

Delhi Capitals pulled off a thrilling win over Punjab Kings in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 on Wednesday but their fielding effort left a lot to be desired. After posting a mammoth total on the board, DC looked disciplined in their bowling but their blunders on the field allowed PBKS to claw back in the game. Liam Livingstone was dropped by Anrich Nortje at deep mid-wicket while Yash Dhull could not complete an easy catch in the deep to dismiss Atharva Taide. Even a run-out chance went begging as both batters were left stranded but the throw from the fielder was totally wayward.
Punjab Kings suffered a big blow to their playoff hopes as they lost to Delhi Capitals in an IPL 2023 game on Wednesday. DC, who are already out of the playoff race, rose from the last spot to be placed ninth with 10 points from 13 games (NRR -0.572). Gujarat Titans are the only team which has sealed a playoff berth. Chennai Super Kings, Lucknow Super Giants and Mumbai Indians currently are among the top-four teams.
It was a comprehensive performance by Punjab Kings against Delhi Capitals in an IPL 2023 game. Prabhsimran Singh's magnificent maiden IPL hundred was well complemented by Harpreet Brar's four wicket haul as Punjab Kings on Saturday kept their slim play-off hopes alive with a comprehensive 31-run win over Delhi Capitals, who were knocked out of contention in the process. If Prabhsimran showed tremendous resolve during his 65-ball 103 to single-handedly power PBKS to 167 for 7, Brar (4/30) and Rahul Chahar (2/16) then spun a web to strangle Delhi's chase as the home side managed just 135 for 8, despite a sizzling 27-ball 54 by skipper David Warner.
Former Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag termed Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) as the most balanced side of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023. IPL 2023 is now entering a tough week as teams will make the last dash to qualify for the playoffs in their coming games. On Saturday, Sunrisers Hyderabad host Lucknow Super Giants in the first double-header and in the evening game Delhi Capitals host northern rivals Punjab Kings in their backyard. With two crucial points on the line, all four teams will look to go all-in, because winners will stay in the playoffs contention in IPL 2023. Both LSG and PBKS will try to stay afloat in the competition with wins in their upcoming games. But a loss for SRH and DC might all but end their journey in this edition.
Kolkata Knight Riders will be taking on Punjab Kings in their next IPL 2023 match on Monday at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. KKR are currently standing at the eighth spot on the points table with a total of four wins out of ten matches. They will be coming to this after registering a five-run victory over Sunrisers Hyderabad in a last-ball thriller. Pacers Vaibhav Arora and Harshit Rana had a good outing against SRH and are likely to retain their places for the next match.
