Proteas confirm travel plans to Bangladesh as Test series is given all-clear

Cricket South Africa (CSA) and the Bangladesh Cricket Board have confirmed that the two-Test series between the Proteas and the Tigers will start on 21 October.

CSA announced in a statement on Monday that the series has been given the all-clear after a security assessment recently conducted in Bangladesh following political unrest which had cast doubt over its continuation in the South Asian nation. READ | Proteas T20 skipper Markram hints at green light for Bangladesh tour despite political unrestThe women's T20 World Cup, which starts on Thursday, was originally going to be hosted by Bangladesh but protests culminating in scores of deaths and the ouster of the governing Awami League and its leader Sheikh Hasina in August led to a decision to move the global showpiece to the United Arab Emirates.The Proteas men's team will arrive in Dhaka on 16 October ahead of their first Test match against Bangladesh from 21 to 25 October.

After that, the team will travel to Chattogram for the second match, scheduled from 29 October to 2 November.The Proteas' touring squad is expected to be announced later on Monday.
