Veteran Indian cricketer Ravichandran Ashwin dropped a bombshell on fans as he revealed that players in the national team are more of 'colleagues' than friends.

As Indian cricket lovers were trying to overcome Ashwin's sentiments, young opening batter Prithvi Shaw echoed the all-rounder's sentiments, suggesting the players hardly open up to each other.

Shaw, who has been out of favour across formats when it comes to national team selection, revealed that while players do talk to everyone, they hardly open up to each other about what happens in their life.

In an interview with Cricbuzz, Shaw was asked which player he opens up to in the team about the difficult points in his career.

Just when it looked like Australia were within touching distance of an Ashesh series win, England played fearless crickets to level the Ashes series on a dramatic final day of the fifth Test at The Oval. Australia were well-placed at 264-3, chasing a mammoth 384 to win, and even had they come away with just a draw, that would have been enough to secure a 2-1 series success. But instead they suffered a dramatic collapse after a lengthy rain delay on the fifth day at The Oval.
England have taken the cricket world by storm while playing the aggressive 'Bazball' brand of game. However, Ashwin said it will be tough to see India adopting such tactics considering the team has embraced a period of transition. "We are playing Test cricket really well. But we will go through a transition very soon, and things won't be easy during that phase," he said on his YouTube channel. Ashwin also cited the difference in sporting culture in India and England as another reason for the former not going the 'Bazball' way.
Another World Cup is around the corner and the Indian fans' hopes get a revival. It is worth noting that India have not won any major ICC tournament ever since the 2013 Champions Trophy. On the other hand, a World Cup title has kept eluding them since 2011. The 2023 ODI World Cup will be taking place in India in October-November and that makes the home side strong favourites for the showpiece event. Ahead of the tournament, Ravichandran Ashwin has a special advice for the fans of the Indian cricket team.
Prithvi Shaw has got down to business in his maiden County stint in style for Northamptonshire. In an intra-squad match, the talented opener scored 65 Off 39 Balls, the video of which was shared by the county side. The Delhi Capitals batter had a woeful IPL 2023 campaign and was dropped midway through the competition. He has also been out of the Indian cricket team for quite some time now. Shaw will make his debut for the county side on Friday against Gloucestershire in Cheltenham in the One-Day Cup. Shaw's arrival was delayed because of visa formalities as he could not play two four-day County Championship fixtures.
