Pontypridd house fire sees home 'totally destroyed' and multiple roads closed

A home has been "totally destroyed" in a major fire in Pontypridd. Numerous roads are closed in the town following the blaze which has left at least one property gutted.

Police have warned drivers to expect lengthy disruption in the area.A spokesman for South Wales Fire and Rescue Service confirmed they were called to the terraced property at 7.09am on February 5 and attended with seven water ladders.

A spokesman said the home had been "totally destroyed" in the fire but there were no casualties. Firefighters remained at the scene throughout the morning and crews from Pontypridd, Abercynon, Tonypandy, Caerphilly, and Gilfach Goch stations have all attended.A spokesman for South Wales Policesaid on Sunday morning: "We are at the scene of an incident on Hurford Crescent, Pontypridd.

Road closures are in place at Hurford Crescent, Heath Crescent and Graigwen Road between Graigwen Place and Llwynmadoc Street.
